McGoldrick, McCusker & Doyle
Friday, February 24 , 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm
The opening gig of our Spring/Summer season sees us welcoming folk music’s legendary triumvirate of musical magpies, Mike McGoldrick, John Doyle, and John McCusker back to the stage. First jamming together as teenagers, a quarter century later these Celtic folk heroes are still combining forces to share music with the world and have released two studio albums in recent years, The Reed That Bends in the Storm (2020) and The Wishing Tree (2018).
Each musician has undertaken many other musical projects in the past and have played with the likes of Bob Dylan, John Cale, Joan Baez, Eddi Reader and Paolo Nutini. With their vast repertoire, this will be an evening to remember! Described as the masters of flute, fiddle, song, and guitar they have worked with the biggest and brightest and will bring you a night of beautifully crafted music.
“A sparklingly tight programme… an excellent sound balance… never tiresome” – The Scotsman
