Joachim Goerke – Piano Songs for Silence – A Meditative Sound Experience with Audience Participation

Saturday, August 19 , 7:30 pm 9:30 pm

Joachim Goerke is a singer, composer and an exceptional pianist. He incorporates excellent technique with intuitive, authentic playing. His music transcends the barriers between classical music and jazz – his is a music between worlds.

He previously played at Universal Hall during the Findhorn Dance Festival in 2022. He now returns as concert pianist and singer with his solo concert “Piano Songs for Silence“. His special way of touching the “keys” points directly to the soul and heart. Included within the flow of the evening there will also be vocal improvisations, mantric songs and an open invitation for audience participation.

This concert is part of a week-long workshop called Homecoming in Song taking place between the 15 – 20 of August in the Findhorn ecovillage. It is a musical collaboration between Joachim Goerke and the well-known local musician and Findhorn community member, Barbara Swetina. There will be a series of open events, more information regarding which can be found on Barbara’s website here.

The Art of Vocal Improvisation and Circle-singing Workshop

Saturday, August 19th, 3:00 pm -5:30 pm

Before the concert Joachim will be offering a workshop in which he will share his profound skills, forming us in a circle of sounds and vocal music beyond words. He will use an improvisational form of singing called circle-singing to create a spirit of freedom and connection in community. Musical patterns emerge from improvisation which are then assigned to individuals or groups to build upon.

The patterns are mostly sounds, opening participants into a singing experience without language barrier and an inner musical freedom. It generates a deep experience of  “I am” and “I am a part of everything”.

Come and join this experience of aliveness, simplicity, fun and inclusivity for all ages!

£30 Full | £25 Concessions*

*Workshop participants are invited to join the evening concert for the concession price!
