Latest news – Hall reopens for film

HALL LATEST EVENTS

On Saturday Dec 5th we will show our first film under Covid restrictions and then review this experiment. Covid prevention measures will include the auditorium being set up for social distancing with a one way system.  Regarding face coverings we will follow the Scottish government guidance namely - it is mandatory to wear face coverings in cinemas, although there are exemptions for certain people and it is a reasonable excuse to remove a face covering when you need to eat and drink. If you wear a face visor/shield you are asked to also wear a face covering as a visor is not considered to offer sufficient protection.

If you are coming as separate bubbles please book your tickets separately. For example if you have 4 tickets in one booking we will sit you all together. Please let us know (via uhallpromo@gmail.com) if you have access issues. If necessary we can seat people on the floor area without having to negotiate steps.

All bookings must be made online and in advance - see the ticket booking link in each listing. You do not need to print out your reference – we will just ask for your name. If you buy 4 tickets (which is the maximum) we would expect you to all sit together without social distancing. It will not be possible to purchase tickets on the door. If you need to contact us about your booking use email and send to uhallpromo@gmail.com

You will notice that ticket prices have gone up due to the small maximum size of the audience, but we are absorbing the ticket booking fee with wegottickets.com so you won't have to pay it. Please note as well that - as per our usual policy - all films will be screened with subtitles.

And please see the details below for the free online event on Friday 13th November with three brilliant local storytellers . The links are there in the write-up

Claire Hastings Band (music), Sat 13th April, 8pm

Saturday, April 13, 2019, 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Glasgow based folksinger, songwriter and ukulele player Claire Hastings has made a name for herself on the folk scene since winning BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year in 2015. She has toured throughout the UK, Europe and New Zealand as a solo artist, and with The Claire Hastings Band, sharing the stage with the likes of Lulu, Jamie Cullum, Deacon Blue and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. Her much-awaited second album ‘Those Who Roam’, released at Celtic Connections 2019, features traditional and original songs under the theme of journeys. Her band, including guitarist Jenn Butterworth, will join Claire for this wonderful evening of songs and stories.

Claire does more than simply sing a song, she takes you to the story and sits you comfortably right beside the singer FOLK RADIO UK
