Spring 2018

Details of most concerts and films in spring 2018 are now posted below - scroll down to reveal.  All films will be £5 entry (one price) and all will have subtitles in English as a policy for this season – even those shot in English. This is to give access to those with some hearing loss and to a sizeable minority in our audience who have English as a second language. But of course we encourage those of you with normal hearing to attend and support this inclusive plan. The Poozies (music) Wed 16th May, 7.30pm

Wednesday, May 16, 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

The ever-adventurous Poozies have been an institution on the British folk scene since they formed in 1997, and a recent line-up change in 2016 brought together founding member Mary Macmaster and long-term cohort Eilidh Shaw with Orkney’s Sarah McFadyen and Tia Files from Oban. The result has been hailed as the best incarnation yet; in 2018 they released their latest album and look set to be a tour de force for some time to come. As always the band is anchored by the glorious bass of the electro-harp, and swings expertly between innovative tune sets featuring monster twin fiddles and powerful, punchy guitar, and gorgeously eclectic songs with beguiling 5-string banjo and 4-part vocal harmonies.

£13/£11 concs/£9 U16’s
