The Poozies (music) Wed 16th May, 7.30pm

Wednesday, May 16, 2018, 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

The ever-adventurous Poozies have been an institution on the British folk scene since they formed in 1997, and a recent line-up change in 2016 brought together founding member Mary Macmaster and long-term cohort Eilidh Shaw with Orkney’s Sarah McFadyen and Tia Files from Oban. The result has been hailed as the best incarnation yet; in 2018 they released their latest album and look set to be a tour de force for some time to come. As always the band is anchored by the glorious bass of the electro-harp, and swings expertly between innovative tune sets featuring monster twin fiddles and powerful, punchy guitar, and gorgeously eclectic songs with beguiling 5-string banjo and 4-part vocal harmonies.
